
Kyle ORWIG (USA)
Dr. Orwig is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences and director of research in the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Since joining the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in 2003, he has been continuously funded by NIH and other sources with research focused on stem cells, genetics, fertility and infertility. As the founding director of the Fertility Preservation Program of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (https://fertilitypreservationpittsburgh.org/), Dr. Orwig and his team are committed to 1) educating patients and physicians about the impacts of disease, medical treatments, genetics or age on fertility; 2) providing state of the art reproductive technologies to preserve fertility and treat infertility; 3) pioneering new assisted reproductive technologies and responsibly translating them into clinical practice; and 4) educating the next generation of experts in reproductive biology and medicine. Dr. Orwig envisions a future when stem cell therapies and gene therapies will be available to treat patients with the most intractable cases of infertility.
